A few useful things.
Does Cuebook need an internet connection?
No. Cuebook reads scripts and saves projects on your computer. There is no cloud account or PDF upload. You only need a connection to download the software.
Can I use an existing PDF or a scanned script?
Yes. Open a PDF to start annotating. Cue marks and cuts work on scanned pages too. Unlock password-protected PDFs before importing. Cuebook does not include OCR or freehand drawing.
What is saved in a .cuebook project?
The unchanged original PDF, editable annotations and your notes-column settings. The same project format works on Windows and macOS. Save a .cuebook file to keep a backup of your work. Cuebook also keeps a recovery copy on your computer.
Can I print or share my annotated script?
Export a PDF containing the script and visible notes columns. Exported pages are flattened images, so text is not searchable and cues cannot be edited separately. Keep your .cuebook project for future changes.
Is a donation required?
No. Cuebook is free, with no subscription. If you would like to support its development, you can donate through Ko-fi.
